Anyone who thinks that a piece they write needs only one draft is about to waste somebody else’s time.  Writing is rewriting.  But there are folks (I’ve worked with some) who insist on rewriting everything they write over and over without finishing anything.  They have no faith in their ability to complete a project, and that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  Wait.  Finish the damn thing and then rewrite it.  This will keep you moving forward.
